If your property is in a dry or fire prone area, the Maui Fire Department recommends maintaining an area of 100 feet and at least a 30 foot minimum, from your property/ home to increase your homes chance of survival. This area should be cleared from flammable vegetation, grass/ brush should be kept short, and low hanging branches should be pruned from trees.
